Mobile Video Sharing Startup Transpera Gets First Round Funding

Transpera, a mobile video sharing service aimed as a B2B service to media companies and brands, has received its first round of funding. The round in the Santa Monica, CA-based company was led by First Round Capital, IDG Ventures and Intel Capital.

The company, started by Frank Barbieri (ex-Microsft and Infospace), is trying to bridge the online video sharing and mobile sharing gap, and allows usrs to send video from online site to mobile, vice-versa and mobile to mobile. The company is not a consumer brand, but will provide the service to media companies, brands and operators.
