Mobile Social Networking/Location Service Loopt Gets $8 Million Funding
Mobile social networking/location firm Loopt has received $8 million of a $12 million second round that the company is raising, according to an SEC filing, picked up by PEHub. Return backers for the Mountain View, CA-based company include New Enterprise Associates and Sequoia Capital. It previously raised an $8 million first round. Earlier this week Sprint announced launching a friend-locator service called “FriendFinder” using Loopt’s technology.
