Mobile Search/Listings Firms Go2Media Gets $3 Million Funding
Go2 Media, the Boston-based local search and listings firm, has received about $3 million in new funding in a combination of equity and debt, according to an SEC filing just filed. The new money was raised from a total of nine investors. Go2 was founded back in 1999, and in 2006, received $13 million in funding from Geosign Corp. Then late in 2007, it merged with another local Boston mobile media firm 80108 Media (which itself raised $12 million in funding before it merged), and relocated the merged company to Boston. 80108 had VC funding from General Catalyst Partners, IDG Ventures Boston, Khosla Ventures and Borealis Ventures, while Go2 had funding from Geosign. Likely the previous 80108 investors re-upped.
