Mobile Gaming Wrap: EA, SocialDeck Stock Up The BlackBerry App World
And now, some gaming news for the BlackBerry owners. Mobile social gaming firm SocialDeck just released Shake & Spell for the BlackBerry, creating its first game that shares info across Facebook, the iPhone and the RIM (NSDQ: RIMM) device. The game initially launched on the iPhone and Facebook last year; it amassed over 500,000 users. Now users can play with and compete against each other across all three platforms.
—EA Mobile has rolled out its first suite of games for the BlackBerry App World; the eight titles include Scrabble, Need for Speed Undercover and The Sims 3, among others. The games have been optimized specifically for the BlackBerry; EA Mobile’s VP of worldwide publishing Adam Sussman said the company was confident that the App World would grow into “an important” distribution channel.
