Now that three of the top mobile game makers in the world, including EA Mobile, Gameloft (EPA: GFT) and Glu Mobile (NSDQ: GLUU), have reported earnings for the three-month period ending June 30, here’s a brief look at how the sector performed. In a nutshell, EA reported the highest revenues, while Glu was the only one to see revenues dip compared to the year-ago period.

Here’s the breakdown:

EA Mobile: EA Mobile recorded $50 million in revenue, increasing 14 percent from $44 million in the year ago period. EA launched 11 iPhone apps, of which five made it into the top 15, including The Sims 3, Need For Speed Underground, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR, Star Trek and Trivial Pursuit. (See the full story here.)

Gameloft: The Paris-based game-maker said Q2 revenues totaled 29.3 million euros ($42.2 million), increasing 17 percent from the year-ago period when it recorded 25 million euros ($36 million). Gameloft said 5 percent of sales came from console games. Mobile game revenues increased 20 percent during the first six months of the year thanks to the iPhone and a solid performance by Java and Brew games. (Release.)

Glu Mobile: Glu Mobile said its Q2 revenues totaled $19.9 million, falling 16 percent from $23.7 million in Q2 2008. During the quarter, Glu said its non-carrier business, including iPhone games, only contributed 5 percent of all revenues. (The full story here.)
