Mobile Content Bits: Verizon-Pearl Jam; Glu-SPTI; AOL Mobile-TMZ.com

Verizon (NYSE: VZ) To Offer Exclusive Pearl Jam Tracks: Verizon has struck a deal with Nineties band Pearl Jam to give its customers exclusive mobile access to the band’s mobile bootleg recordings. Three songs from each night of the band’s performance will be released on V CAST Music, with one full-length track available for free. The other two songs will be charged regular rates, as well as the ringtones and ringback tones for all three of the songs. Each free song will be available until the next show. All the music will also be available for purchase after the tour ends (release).

Glu (NSDQ: GLUU) Strikes Distribution Deal With SPTI: Mobile games publisher Glu Mobile has signed a deal with Sony (NYSE: SNE) Pictures Television International to distribute mobile games for the firm in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. SPTI will continue to manage the development and production of its mobile games. Glu said the agreement would help boost its digital distribution business (release).

TMZ Breaking News On AOL (NYSE: TWX) Mobile: Breaking news content from the internet’s popular celeb gossip site TMZ.com is now available on AOL’s mobile portal on an ad-supported basis. Platform-A is managing the WAP banner inventory, which will be served up by mobile ad serving platform and network Third Screen Media. The portal links to TMZ’s stand-alone mobile web site that includes photo and video galleries, free news alerts and advance previews of stories to air on its TV show TMZ (release).
