Mobile Content Bits: Transpera Video; Sonic Boom Ringtones; mSpot Ports To 500; SunCom To T-Mobile

Transpera announces new partners: Transpera said it’s providing free, ad-supported video services to a handful of brands, including MTV Networks (NYSE: VIA), Discovery Communications (NSDQ: DISCA), AccuWeather.com, the Travel Channel and Next New Networks. MTV’s VH1 channel is already available today at http://m.vh1.com, Also available is http://m.gametrailers.com, which lets people search and watch video game previews, reviews and behind-the-scene interviews with game makers. Comedy Central and Atom are expected to launch within weeks.

Sonic Boom launches ringtone-maker for iPhone: Sonic Boom said it has launched a ringtone maker for the iPhone called ToneMaker with Voice, allowing iPhone users to create original ringtones using music tracks, while recording and mixing in their own voices on top of the tracks. Previously, ToneMaker was exclusively available on Verizon Wireless (NYSE: VZ). Release.

mSpot ports to 500: mSpot, which gives consumers access to music, custom ringtones, live radio and video on their phones, said it now supports more than 500 phones, after completing a major porting initiative. It recently added BlackBerry and Palm (NSDQ: PALM) support, and is adding Windows Mobile soon. If you’re at CTIA this week, mSpot is celebrating the event by throwing a party with performances by Universal and Warner Bros. recording artists Keri Hilson and Francesca Battistelli.

T-Mobile converts SunCom markets: T-Mobile USA, said it has launched the T-Mobile brand and service in former SunCom markets throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The acquisition of SunCom was completed by T-Mobile for $2.4 billion in cash and assumed debt back in February. SunCom’s retail locations have be rebranded to T-Mobile. Former SunCom customers will be detailed information soon on the transition. Release.
