—Cellufun in MetroPCS’s tie-up: Mobile gaming portal Cellufun has struck a distribution deal with MetroPCS to provide the wireless carrier’s 4.6 million customers with its mobile games and social community features. Cellufun will receive prominent placement on MetroPCS’s deck, which the games portal says will make the discovering it “substantially easier.” Cellufun, which includes games such as Space Wars and Call of the Pharaoh, claims that it attracts 5 million unique users a month to its portal (release).
— Shazam racks up 1.5 Million downloads: Mobile music discovery provider Shazam revealed that its application has been been downloaded by over 1.5 million people in the first six weeks of its availability in Apple’s App Store. iPhone users are among Shaazam’s most prolific users, having identified more than 20 million music tracks in the last two months (release).
