—Perez Hilton launches mobile site: The celebrity gossip site that made the Paint application cool again with rudimentary white dots and lines on celebrity photos has launched a mobile site. In addition to opening up the site’s archives on mobile, the gossip blog now gives readers the ability to share posts via SMS or email. The site averages 250 million impressions and 12 million unique readers each month, according to Google (NSDQ: GOOG) Analytics. Mobile should only help that increase and bring in more opportunities for ad sales. Release.

—School of Rock on iPhone: Here’s one we can get excited about. Paramount Digital Entertainment has launched a mobile game version of its 2003 film School Of Rock on the App Store. The $7 application teaches users the basics of instrument playing while giving gamers a chance to try it for themselves on virtual instruments on the screen. There is also a series of quizzes that test players knowledge about brand-name instruments and their history. Following the film’s storyline, the application is heavily focused on music education with instruction on melody, harmony, rhythm, tempo and beats. Finally, gamers can record their own jam sessions and play them back later for fun. Release.

—Playphone gets UMG real tones: Content provider Playphone has struck a deal with UMG that will allow it to sell real music tones from the record label’s artists, reports Mobile Entertainment. The agreement will give UMG content distribution through the D2C portals that Playphone manages for Walmart, Best Buy and BET. The company has similar deals with Sony (NYSE: SNE) BMG and EMI.

—Tribune licensing division expands to mobile: Tribune Co.’s licensing division is trying to leverage its deep catalog of content on mobile. The mobile content is being marketed to a variety of media providers and wireless subscribers will now gain access to editorial content in real-time in some cases. Subscribers can also sign up for daily alerts, jokes, horoscopes and quotes via Vibes, the mobile marketing company Tribune tapped for the deal. Release.

—LimeLife launches site beta: The women’s media company has launched a beta version of its site, which is also accessible on mobile phones. The new site covers music, entertainment, fashion, dating, beauty, news and shopping. A new “my snaps” utility also allows users to clip and share their favorites whether they be images, products or artists. LimeLife first brought its site to mobile in 2005, a first among female lifestyle brands the company claims. Release.

—Joystick controller For BlackBerry: In yet another sign that BlackBerry is focusing on bringing in more non-business users, Research In Motion is working with Zeemote to bring joystick use to more games. Zeemote’s analog joystick, which connects via Bluetooth, can now be tapped into by developers through a new SDK set to be released by the company soon. Developers will be able to test game use on the joystick through a set of standards included in the SDK.
