—O2 Solicits VCAMs: Another case of crowd sourcing: O2 and P2P news network Current have agreed to a deal that will allow people to create their own ad for the UK mobile network’s new backup service Bluebook. The winning viewer created ad message (VCAM) will win £1,000 if it is selected to air on the network and web site, and up to £25,000 if screened elsewhere (release).
— Alltel Wireless (NYSE: AT) Launches Social Video App: Alltel Wireless have launched a new social network application, Alltel Social Video, which allows customers to share and rate videos from several online outlets, including Break.com, AtomFilms and GrindTV.com. The service costs $2.99 a month. Mobile video services provider Transpera, is providing Alltel with the mobile platform to power the application (release).
—MocoSpace Gets Greystripe Games: Ad-supported games distributor Greystripe has struck a deal with mobile social network MocoSpace to provide its 2.5 million member with more than 800 ad-funded games from Digital Chocolate, Hands-On Mobile, and Vivendi (EPA: VIV) Games Mobile among others. Greystripe has been busy forging distribution deals. Last week, it came to a similar agreement with social network MeYou. Greystripe’s 45 partners now account for 85 percent of the company’s daily downloads, reports Pocketgamer.co.uk.
— I-Play Strikes Licensing Deal: I-Play, the mobile publishing division of casual games company Oberon Media has agreed to a licensing deal with independent production company Endemol USA to to develop, publish and distribute a mobile game based on NBC’s hit game show Deal or No Deal. In Europe, Gameloft (EPA: GFT) released a Deal Or No Deal game in Europe under a separate license in 2006 that has to date sold 1.5 million units (release).

— V Cast New Stations: AT&T (NYSE: T) announced it will roll out Qualcomm’s (NSDQ: QCOM) MediaFLO service in May, featureing two exclusive channels. V Cast quickly released news saying it has two new exclusive channels, too. The company said in celebration of a year of offering mobile TV, it was launching ESPN (NYSE: DIS) Radio with “SportsCenter AM,” “Game Night” and “The Pulse.” The other station is MTV’s new bilingual channel, Tr3s TV with programs such as Sucker Free Latino, Rock Dinner and Quiero Mis Quinces.
— Sling Media Coming To Symbian: Today, the company said SlingPlayer Mobile for UIQ on Symbian OS is now available. The company software will be on display at CTIA, along with the existing SlingPlayer Mobile for S60 on Symbian OS, which will soon support the Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N95.
