— iTunes for iPhone delays: In same cases, new iPhone subscribers found themselves waiting up to 48 hours to have their new phone activated by AT&T (NYSE: T) and Apple (NSDQ: AAPL). For their time, Apple is allegedly handing out a $30 gift certificate for the iTunes Store. (Gizmodo)
—Cellfire adds Safeway to mobile coupons: Cellfire adds Safeway, one of the largest grocery store chains, to its digital coupon program on mobile phones and computers. The coupons are redeemable at more than 1,500 stores nationwide under the banners of Vons, Pavilions, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Dominick’s, Genuardi’s and Safeway. (Release.)
—AT&T and Verizon (NYSE: VZ) add mobile TV markets: In conjunction with Qualcomm’s Flo TV being able to launch in more markets because of the digital TV transistion, its two major customers—AT&T and Verizon Wireless—are able to pass along the benefits to its customers. AT&T Mobile TV will now be available in roughly 20 new markets around the country, and Verizon said it is also expanding to markets such as San Francisco, Cleveland and Milwaukee. (AT&T.) (Verizon.)
—Transformers hit mobile: go2 Media is launching a new mobile ad product called Dynamic Content Marketing, which is being launched in conjunction with Dreamworks Pictures and Paramount Pictures film, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The campaign will take-over go2’s movies home page with Transformers branding. Separately, Glu Mobile (NSDQ: GLUU) released Transformers CyberToy for iPhone and iPod touch. (Go2 release.)
