Mobile Apps and Tech Firm Mobile Messenger Sells Majority To PE Firm Silver Lake

This is new for mobile content related deals: a private equity firm taking stake. Mobile Messenger, the Australia-HQd mobile content management and distribution firm, has sold a majority stake to Silver Lake Sumeru, the middle-market technology focused investment fund within private equity firm Silver Lake. No financial details were disclosed.

MM, which has a U.S. office in Santa Monica, has technologies such as SMS/MMS content distribution, campaign creation and management services, media planning and buying, billing process management, customer service and wireless carrier interface operations. The eight-year old company now has presence in USA, Australia, UK, New Zealand and Canada. More in release.
