Mobile Advertising Bits: Reuters-Nokia Extend Ad Deal; Vodafone Greece, Netherlands Take Ads
—Reuters in global tie-up with Nokia: Reuters has extended its agreement with Nokia (NYSE: NOK) to allow the handset maker’s mobile ad unit Nokia Ad Sales to handle its mobile inventory globally, reports NMA.co.uk. The two companies already have an existing deal in place, signed a year ago, in which Nokia sold mobile advertising on the Reuters UK mobile site. The new tie-up means Nokia can offer display and pre-roll ads on Reuters’ mobile sites for Brazil, Canada, India, and the US in addition to the UK. Nokia will also distribute Reuters’ content across its editorial sites including recently launched entertainment site Here & Now. Nokia says its mobile ad network has a reach of more than 100 million people globally.
— Vodafone (NYSE: VOD) Greece and Netherlands Units To Sell Ads: Vodafone Greece and Vodafone Netherlands will offer mobile advertising on their respective Vodafone Live! portals. The two carriers who have a combined user base of ten million clients have selected Dutch mobile ad platform provider MADS to manage the service. Vodafone’s units Hungary, Romania, and New Zealand also use MADS, which will now offer sales across all five of the Vodafone units (release).
