NYC-based Ringleader Digital, a mobile advertising startup, has raised a $6 million first round led by the W2 Group. The company, previously known as MoPhap, first raised seed money from unidentified investors in 2006. Funding will go towards the development of its ad network, as well as its own marketing efforts. The company’s pitch is that its platform is less complicated than other mobile ad networks and that it can easily be managed along with a regular online ad campaign. Its ads include interstitial ads that play when a mobile page is loading. Release.
