Major Mobile And Online Push For Stephen King’s New Story Collection
This is quite a push for Stephen King’s new collection of short stories to be published in November. Scribner (part of Simon & Schuster Digital), Marvel Entertainment (NYSE: MVL), and CBS (NYSE: CBS) Mobile have partnered together to put together a series of video episodes based on Stephen King’s story N from his forthcoming Just After Sunset collection, accessible both online and through mobile phones. The 25 original 2-minute video episodes are being serialized over the next five weeks, with the first one available starting this Monday through mobile carriers at no extra charge. The episodes will also be available on the web through the CBS Audience Network and will be put on sale at various digital content retailers. Paid download customers will be able to purchase blocks of 5 episodes for $0.99 or buy a pass for the entire series for $3.99. Just After Sunset will also be published as a comic book miniseries by Marvel in 2009 (release).
Update: The online preview is live and embedded below, complete with comic-book style lettering to match the Comic-Con unveiling today. It’s meant to be shared; it’s also meant to swallow online real estate so watch the trailer after the jump.
