This should make life more interesting: Chinese mobile content firm Linktone is considering making an offer for British-Chinese mobile ringtone specialist MonsterMob Group, if MM’s proposals to sell a majority stake to Spanish firm LaNetro Zed SA are not approved by itsshareholders at the EGM on Feb 23, the company announced through the unusual move of a release. “The board of Linktone has been reviewing MonsterMob and its business for some time and has concluded that a combination of the two companies would be attractive for both groups of shareholders.”
LaNetro had planned to make a full bid for MonsterMob but said in December it would instead buy a 52.6 stake for 34 million pounds ($66.8 million). Linktone’s share-only deal that it will offer will value the company at $77.9 million based on the number of ordinary shares in issue.
Some more details in release.
