LBS Firm uLocate Receives $11 Million Funding

uLocate Communications, Inc., a provider of location-enabled mobile apps, has received $11 million in its third round of funding. International venture capital firm Venrock led the round, with additional participation from returning investors GrandBanks Capital and Kodiak Venture Partners. Venrock’s General Partner, Mike Tyrrell, also joined uLocate’s Board of Directors. uLocate will use the investment to drive continued development and marketing of its WHERE platform, which essentially combines mobile and GPS allowing users to find people, places and discover content.
