JumpTap Conducts Restructuring; Lays Off 20: Report Says

A very short report in Globes, a Israeli business publication, said that Cambridge, Mass.-based JumpTap, a mobile search and advertising company, laid off about 20 employees as part of a restructuring. A majority of the cuts reportedly took place at its headquarters, but “several more” occurred at its office in Tel Aviv. We are still waiting to hear back from a company spokesperson to verify this report, but a restructuring might hint at how competitive the space is becoming. JumpTap not only goes up against other startups, such as Medio Systems, but also online search giants, such as Google (NSDQ: GOOG), Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) and MSN, which continues to make moves into mobile.
