Intel Buys Mobile Linux Developer Opened Hand

Inter has acquired London-based Opened Hand, a software startup which specializes in mobile Linux development and services. Opened Hand will focus on participating in the Moblin Software Platform community, which is developing a Linux software stack for Intel’s (NSDQ: INTC) Atom processors, reports ZDNET UK.

Intel will continue to support existing OH projects, including software library Clutter, used for GUI creation, and Matchbox, an open-source base environment for the X Window System. The company has clients such as Nokia (NYSE: NOK) Internet Tablets, One Laptop Per Child and Openmoko.
