Industry Moves: mBlox; Quattro; Pelago’s Whrrl; MocoSpace

mBlox: Ken Elmer has been selected to lead mBlox’s global finance and human resources as CFO. Previously, he was SVP-finance and administration for Tiburon.

Quattro: Quattro Wireless has continued its ads and publishing growth, having added Basak Ozer as VP-product management and Sriram Kalyanasundaram as VP-professional services. With a background in mobile product management and marketing , Ozer was previously global VP-marketing at TeleAtlas. Kalyanasundaram was most recently director-services for OpenPages.

Pelago’s Whrrl: The location-based service has appointed John Kim as VP-advertising products, charged with managing the monetization strategy of Whrrl’s mobile application. He brings 15 years of new media marketing experience, having most recently headed up product management and marketing for Medio Systems.

MocoSpace: MocoSpace has elected social net vet, and angel investor, Jim Scheinman, to its board of directors. Scheinman was an early employee of Friendster and the first employee and eventually, board member, of Bebo. From 2003 to 2005 Scheinman headed up business development and sales at Friendster before leaving to join Michael & Xochi Birch.
