Industry Moves: CTO, CMO, Sales Head Out At Sprint
Sprint (NYSE: S) Nextel has announced several key executives are leaving: CFO Paul Saleh, CMO Tim Kelly, and Mark Angelino, president of sales and distribution, are leaving the company effective this Friday. No reasons were given; CEO Dan Hesse said that he would act quickly to fill the positions but didn’t have a fixed time frame. He is considering both internal and external candidates. William G. Arendt, currently SVP and controller of Sprint Nextel, will serve as acting CFO while John Garcia, currently SVP-product development and management, will serve as acting CMO. Paget Alves, currently Sprint Nextel’s regional president for sales and distribution, will be acting president of sales and distribution. All will report directly to Hesse.

Sprint has been going through some tough times, losing customers and announcing layoffs and copping flak from investors for its WiMax network. Hesse has only been CEO since December, after previous CEO Gary Forsee resigned in October. (release)
