Industry Moves: Cox Communications Appoints Scott Knaub To Spearhead Wireless Business
Cable operator Cox Communications has appointed Scott Knaub to head up the roll out of its cellular network, as its executive director of wireless business operations, reports WirelessWeek. Cox anticipates building its own cellular network later this year, but will use Sprint’s network initially until its build-out is complete. Knaub will be responsible for financial operations, business case analysis, roaming negotiations and roaming infrastructure development. His team will serve as a primary point of contact on vendor relationships. Previously, Knaub served as Cox’s VP of operations for New England. Before joining Cox in 2000, he held numerous leadership positions at MCI, which later became Verizon (NYSE: VZ) Business. Last month, Cox hired Raj Beri as VP of wireless product operations and Dane Dickie as executive director of wireless product development.
