Ad-supported mobile games and application company Greystripe said today that over 1.6 million games and applications were downloaded within the first two months of its partnership with Norwegian browser firm Opera, calling it an “overwhelming success”. As part of the distribution deal, the homepage of Opera’s mobile browser Opera Mini includes a GameJump bookmark that immediately sends people to Greystripe’s ad-funded game portal. Opera said it was happy with the partnership, as it provides Opera Mini customers with easy access to games and applications. Greystripe CEO Michael Chang called the in-browser deal with Opera a “coup”. The company has some 900 mobile games in their catalogue. (Release.)
