Google (NSDQ: GOOG) has started sending out a patch for its Android operating system to fix a security problem with the browser, and addressed a few other minor changes, CNet reports. The patch is going out on various days, with CNet reporting that they received notification on Saturday. I received the patch for my T-Mobile G1 on Sunday. The update went smoothly. A short message appeared saying an update was available, and then I had the choice of updating now or later. I clicked now, and it happened over a matter of minutes, and then the phone worked normally. The patch comes only about a week after a couple of researchers revealed the flaw on Oct. 24, showing that Google is being responsive to concerns.
