Gameloft (EPA: GFT) has released its sales figures for the second quarter (not its earnings report, which will come out later): It sold 25.0 million euros (US$39.3) worth of games in Q2, an increase of 8 percent year-on-year—16 percent on a comparable exchange rate basis, reflecting the strength of the euro. Half year sales were 50.3 million euros (US$79.1 million), a 10 percent increase year-on-year. Europe accounted for 44 percent of Gameloft’s sales, followed by North America at 29 percent. The “rest of the world” saw the sharpest growth, increase revenues by two-thirds. Ninety-four percent of first half revenues were from mobile games, with the rest coming from consoles (Nintendo DS, Xbox Live Arcade and Nintendo WiiWare). (release)
