Both Forbes and SportingNews are launching Mobizines in the US for the launch of the service into North America by Refresh Mobile. Mobizines allow companies to publish mobile content in a rich, magazine-style format and offer targeted advertising. Interested readers need to download an application (Sprint, Cingular and Cellular One text M to MyCell while Blackberry users can go to http://usa.mobizines.com) and the application and mobizines are free—except for carrier data charges. The service already operates in the UK, Germany and South Africa and Refresh Mobile claims 250,000 people have installed the application. Another 20 titles are expected to launch in the US in the next six months.
