FCC Finalizes Nov. 4 Agenda; Wireless Industry Braces For Many Changes

Those hoping for the FCC to delay its vote on white spaces, or the rates phone companies pay one another to transfer calls, have lost their chance. Same goes for the regulatory agency’s pending vote on Verizon’s acquisition of Alltel (NYSE: AT) and the Clearwire (NSDQ: CLWR) merger. The FCC released its official agenda for Nov. 4 and every item is contentious. This latest development comes despite aggressive lobbying from legislators, performers, rural carriers and others.
