Facebook Mobile Exec Jed Stremel Resigns
Facebook Mobile director Jed Stremel has resigned, per TechCrunch, which mocoNews has confirmed. As for a replacement, Facebook says it has a “cross-functional” mobile team that will continue to work on both partnerships and product development—so seemingly no rush to fill the vacancy.
Stremel spent four years with the social net, working on “open access” mobile initiatives, like a potential integration with Yahoo’s oneConnect app; before joining the mobile team, he worked in business development. Stremel joined Facebook from Yahoo’s mobile division in 2005; before Yahoo, he worked at voice-powered search service Tellme Networks (now owned by Microsoft).
