Facebook has announced the Facebook Platform, which allows for third-party development of applications that interact with Facebook. Over at PaidContent Rafat does a good job of detailing how this is largely Facebook playing catch up than anything innovative. To allow users to better share the increasing amount of video being shot from mobile devices, Video supports mobile uploading of video directly into the application”. Previously users could post text messages from their mobiles.
