DT’s T-Venture Puts $6 Million In LBS Firm deCarta
San Jose-based location-based services software maker deCarta has received $6 million from Deutsche Telekom’s (NYSE: DT) T-Venture VC arm. deCarta makes an SDK and API for GPS navigation, a mapping engine and web-hosted services, all designed to help app developers and mobile operators roll out location-aware offerings. This is part of a larger round, with other investors announced at a later date. Existing investors include Cardinal Venture Capital, Mobius Venture Capital and Norwest Venture Partners.
