—Sprint (NYSE: S) Nextel has appointed Robert H. Brust, 64, as Chief Financial Officer. Brust was previously CFO of Eastman Kodak Company and CFO of Unisys Corporation following a 31-year career with General Electric (NYSE: GE) Company. (release)

—A shareholder proposal to strip Verizon (NYSE: VZ) Chief Executive Ivan Seidenberg of his position as chairman of the board garnered just 20 percent of the votes at the annual stockholders meeting, so he’ll retain both titles. (Crains NY Business)
