DoCoMo (NYSE: DCM) has unveiled a prototype handset which uses a sensor made by start-up Kaiser Technology that “sends electric signals through the human body to transmit data, enabling electronic payments or data transfer at the touch of a finger” reports Reuters. Other suggested uses are to open secure doors or have a car adjust the seat and steering wheel to the driver. In the past the technology has been suggested as a way to connect headsets to the handphone… This is a while away though, and DoCoMo emphasized it was an experiment: “We don’t know yet if we can commercialize this technology,” Koinumaru said. “We need to conduct more research. Then we need to see if there actually is a market for this.”
