DirecTV (NYSE: DTV) has launched a mobile application which its subscribers can use to schedule their DVR remotely. Sky has been offering this in UK for a while now, while Tivo-scheduling-on-Verizon-Wireless costs $2 a month. DirecTV’s service is free.

Users can do it via the DirecTV.com web site, but the company is also prominently advertising the mobile version of the service, available at m.directv.com, reports Mobhappy.

From the service’s online description:
—Browse our 14-day guide anywhere and select programs quickly
—Send record command to a specific DVR in your house
—Prioritize your recordings
