China Mobile Has 100 Million Signed On To Instant Messaging Service
Some interesting content stats from China’s largest carrier China Mobile. The carrier, which has some 436 million subscribers at the end of September 2008, reported that it had over 100 million registered users for its mobile instant messaging tool Fetion. Its music service had 80 million users in the first half of the year, which included 40 million “exclusive members” who paid 5 renminbi ($0.73) per color ring back tone, and an additional 5 renminbi ($0.73) to get 30 percent off music purchases, reports Pacific Epoch. The operator also has over 40 million mobile newspaper users.
