CBS Mobile Fills General Manager Gap With Veteran Rob Gelick
CBS Interactive (NYSE: CBS) has promoted Rob Gelick to the position of SVP and GM of CBS Mobile, which fills a gap after Cyriac Roeding, and then his replacement, Jeff Sellinger left the position over the past year.

Gelick joined CBS Interactive in 2008 and most recently served as VP of CBS Mobile. Prior to CBS, Gelick was a founding exec at Helio, the youth-oriented MVNO. Before Helio, Gelick served as the Director of Music for Motorola (NYSE: MOT), where he worked with Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) (to bring iTunes to Motorola devices. Release.
Gelick takes over the reigns as CBS Mobile continues to be active in the space, launching applications for the iPhone, Android and Palm (NSDQ: PALM) for various TV shows, including Survivor, CBS News and CBS Sports, or even standalone events like March Madness. Gelick will report to Sam Parker, SVP of Operations for CBS Interactive. In a release, Parker said: “CBS has built a strong reputation for its innovative mobile offerings, and we continue to be bullish about the opportunities in the mobile arena. Rob has over a decade of experience in the mobile industry, and I am confident that his experience with CBS’ mobile operations makes him uniquely qualified to step up as the General Manager for the Mobile group and continue to grow the division.”
In the role of SVP and GM of CBS Mobile, Gelick will oversee the development, production and distribution of all mobile products across CBS Interactive properties including CBS.com, CBSSports.com, GameSpot, and TV.com. Gelick will also lead mobile efforts for CBS Television Network’s core brands including entertainment, sports and news, as well as mobile development for The CW and CBS Paramount Television.
