So much for mobile TV’s travails. French broadcaster Canal+ reports it now has 250,000 subscribers for its mobile TV offering carried by the SFR and Bouygues networks. Subscribers grew 225 percent between 2006 and 2007, RapidTV said. The CanalSat Mobile (50 channels) and premium Canal+ Mobile packages, launched in 2005, are available over 3G, 3G+ and EDGE nets and come in the following bundles - Humor, Cine/Serie, Sport/Info and Charme. SFR’s unlimited access bundle is particularly popular for the broadcaster. Even so, Orange claims 500,000 mobile TV users in France.
