Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum has sued Italian mobile content provider Buongiorno, (BIT: BNG) accusing it of “blatantly deceptive practices and cramming charges onto consumers’ cellphone bills” reports RCR News. The lawsuit comes after a probe by the AG’s CyberFraud Task Force which alleged Buongiorno directly targeted children, putting ads on websites offering free ringtones and hiding the “by signing up for a $10 monthly subscription” buried in fine print or on a separate page. McCollum promised to “clean up the industry”. In January this year Buongiorno was kicked off Verizon’s deck after failing to verify that 10,000 of its customers (about 5 percent) had gone through a double opt-in process.
