Buongiorno Responds To The Florida AG Lawsuit

We mentioned yesterday about Italian mobile content provider Buongiorno (BIT: BNG) being sued by Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum, for its alleged “blatantly deceptive practices and cramming charges onto consumers’ cellphone bills”, through its U.S. subsidiary Blinko. Now, Buongiorno responds through a statement, and defends itself:
“Contrary to the Florida Attorney General’s claims:
—Blinko DOES NOT enroll customers into subscription plans without consumers’ knowledge or consent. In compliance with US online marketing laws and industry regulations, Buongiorno USA does not – under any circumstance – target or communicate with cell phone customers who have not previously initiated a subscription with the company.
—Blinko DOES NOT falsely advertise subscription content as “free” and it discloses all charges in a clear and conspicuous manner.
—Blinko DOES NOT engage in ‘cramming’: We rely on our carrier partners to regularly provide us with a list of recycled numbers which we delete from our systems within 24 hours.”

More on this later.
