Buongiorno Launches Ad Campaign To Support New Italian Mobile Social Network

Mobile content company Buongiorno (BIT: BNG) is getting close to launching a mobile social network in Italy called Blinko, and has launched a corresponding advertising campaign that cost 500,000 Euro dollars. Currently, the social network is in beta testing and can be found at “www.realtimerealpeople.com”. The company said the social network is the digital equivalent to Italy’s “piazza,” a place where people meet and chat. The difference is that Blinko has no geographical boundaries, so people can stay in touch touch even when we are far away. The social network stresses answering two questions: “What am I doing?” and “What are you doing?”

To support the launch, Buongiorno is launching a four-week ad campaign that started today. The video, which can be seen here, follows one individual walking around using his cellphone as others come out of their houses and join up to create a long human chain that weaves around the city. The tagline is: “Your friends are always with you.” The video required more than one hundred actors and was shot from more than ten hours of filming. The campaign’s distribution is being handled by GoViral, which hopes to get the video on up to 10,000 websites and blogs and reach more than half a million potential blinko users in Italy and Spain.
