Boost Mobile has put mobile social networking service Crush or Flush in prime placement on its deck, and is charging $0.69 a day to use the service. It’s the first significant carrier (4.5 million users) to charge people to use the service, and the company hopes more will follow. Crush or Flush—developed by IceBreaker claims to have picked up a quarter of a million users since the service launched in January this year. The service is similar to the notorious Hot or Not and provides services such as anonymous chat via SMS between people with a mutual crush (IceBreaker hides e-mails and phone numbers), a personalized profile filter (age, gender, orientation, etc) and a Crush List (where users can find out who “crushed” them).
