BBC Signs Worldwide Content Deal With O2

The BBC Worldwide  has signed a global content deal with O2 which will see it sell content through the O2 Active mobile portal. There will initially be over 300 pieces of content available (video clips, wallpapers, ringtones) from shows such as The Office, Little Britain, Doctor Who, I’m Alan Partridge, and League of Gentlemen...this is expected to grow over time. The release doesn’t say anything about the deal being exclusive, which is good for BBC. This is one of the first deals after the appointment of Peter Mercier as head of BBC Worldwide mobile division.
