AT&T (NYSE: T) said it is planning on linking the iPhone to its high-speed Internet and video service called U-verse, Reuters reports. In doing so, consumers will be able to listen to their voice mails on their TV or computer screens, or download shows from their digital video recorders to their iPhones, or use the iPhone as a remote control for changing channels, or even funny things like throwing tomatoes at the TV. AT&T mentioned these plans at an event today that showcased some recently developed technologies that are not yet being marketed, Reuters said. It’s unclear if these kinds of advancements would be limited to the iPhone. AT&T Chief Technology Officer John Donovan said some of the services may be launched by the end of the year.
