Mystery Solved: Apple Launches New iMac, MacBook; And ‘Magic Mouse’ With iPhone-Like Multi-Touch

Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) hinted yesterday during its earnings call that it would incur expensive shipping fees due to a soon-to-be launched product that would arrive just in time for the holidays. However, as usual, Apple was coy and it was unclear exactly whether it was shipping new products, or just current products that had sold-out.

Well, the guessing is over, and the company said today it is shipping a new iMac, MacBook and new mouse technology that simulates the iPhone’s multi-touch capabilities. The so-called “Magic Mouse” allows consumers use gestures to navigate long documents, pan across large images or swipe to move forward or backward through web pages or photos. Magic Mouse comes standard with the new iMac and will be available as an accessory for $69.
