Ansca Mobile Raises $1 Million In Funding For App Development Tech

Mobile app technology firm Ansca Mobile has raised $1 million in funding from Merus Capital. Ansca is the developer of Corona, an iPhone app development platform that makes it as easy to create apps as it is to use Adobe’s Photoshop progam. That’s partly because Ansca was founded by a pair of former Adobe execs. CEO Carlos Icaza and CTO Walter Luh launched the company in 2007, after working on various Flash-based products and teams at Adobe (NSDQ: ADBE).

Ansca will use the money to fund new tech development, including an app-design platform for smartphones other than the iPhone. The Palo Alto, Calif.-based company says its goal is to make it much easier for developers on both ends of the spectrum—engineers and web designers—to build high-quality apps. Release.
