Fix8, a video chat service that lets users talk via animated avatars, has raised $2 million from SK Telecom (NYSE: SKM), adding to the $3 million it raised last year from Vickers Financial Group. Both fundings are part of the same $5 million first round. In addition to the investment, the company has received a contract from SK Telecom to lead the operator’s efforts at enhancing the mobile chat experience.
