Right now, the Google (NSDQ: GOOG) Android market is limited. One phone, built by one handset maker is available only from one carrier. That is expected to change starting next year.

Reports today are suggesting that Samsung is ready to release a phone based on Android during the second quarter in North America. Korea IT News reported that industry insiders said that Samsung will release the phone sometime between April and June through relationships with Sprint (NYSE: S) Nextel and T-Mobile USA. To handle the development schedule, Samsung has added 30 experts in Linux and Java for a total of up to 80 developers.

At the same time, reports are emerging that Android is set for a major update, under the code-name “Cupcake.” Among the features being supported are video-recording and video sharing, and some are jumping to the conclusion that that means it will include the ability to upload videos from the phone directly to YouTube, reports readwriteweb.

Other updates on the way:
—Copy and Paste for web browser
—Inline search will help you find text on the web page you’re viewing
—A port of the Java script engine from Google’s Chrome browser
—Stereo Bluetooth profile support and Bluetooth Remote Control support
—Support for third parties to make onscreen keyboards
