—USA Today: USA Today has launched a free Android application which will let users access news, weather, photos and interactive polls. Articles can be read, shared via e-mail, SMS or Twitter and saved for later reading. The app will also have sports scores and images from the days news. Revenue will be generated by advertising including click-to-call, click-to-maps using the user’s GPS location, and video.
—NBA Eastern Conference Finals: NBA Digital has announced the launch of T-Mobile Close Up: NBA Eastern Conference Finals, which it says is the first live streaming sports application for the Android Market. The application will provide four video channels: Action Cam - Range of footage capturing the on-court action; Player Cam - Shots of players on the bench and on the court; Arena Cam - Wide shots of the court from cameras positioned above the court and outside the arena; Host Cam – Coverage featuring the online host, on-air announcers, and reporters.It will also have postgame video highlights of the ongoing Conference Semifinals and continuing through the Eastern Conference Finals.
—SearchMe: Searchme announced today that the Searchme visual search app is available for free on Android Market. The app, a version of which is already available for the iPhone, delivers large images of web pages, videos, music and products using an interface designed for the device.
