Almost half of all cellphone customers in the U.S. use their mobile devices for entertainment purposes, according to a new survey from mobile app developer Artificial Life. The survey, which compiled responses from 200 individuals, skewed heavily when it came to entertainment content on smartphones: 87.5 percent of smartphone owners said they access music, games and video on their device. Moreover, 33 percent said they use their phone for entertainment more than any other purpose including email, GPS and web browsing. The data reinforces Handango’s recent report that showed entertainment and gaming applications at the top of the most popular apps sold to smartphone users. Release.
