Alltel Launches Child-Tracking Service
Alltel (NYSE: AT) has launched some family features. The Axcess Family Finder lets parents determine where their children are throughout the day, and has easy-to-use interactive maps to monitor or guide family members to specific locations. It also allows parents to identify specific areas that their children frequent. “Scheduled Checks” allows parents to register specific locations to be tracked during certain times, with the handset being tracked via GPS and the parents receiving a text message notifying them of the child’s location. The service is provided by WaveMarket and costs $10 per child. Alltel announce Parental Controls earlier this week.
