Alltel Facing Three Lawsuits Over Buy-Out

Alltel is reportedly facing three lawsuits over the planned buy-out of the company: “One lawsuit alleges shareholders are being shorted and another says company insiders will be given preferential treatment in an undervalued deal. A third claims the company board failed to make a good decision about the future of the company”, reports AP via the Pueblo Chieftan. There is also a breakup fee of about $2 per share, “meaning any outside firm would have to bid above the $24.8 billion buyout plus pay the fee”...The fee is an estimated $625 million.
